Volunteers will have two options for taking action...
What You’ll Do
- Connect & Converse: Knock on doors to have brief, meaningful conversations with residents about breast cancer awareness.
- Share Vital Knowledge: Educate neighbors on signs, symptoms, and risk factors.
- Deliver Resources: Distribute Buddy Check 12 awareness kits as tangible tools for their health journey.
- Gather Insights: Conduct a brief cancer awareness survey to help us understand community needs.
- Bridge the Gap: Document residents who require professional follow-up or additional support.
What We Provide (Our Commitment to You)
- Expert Training: We offer leadership training for Neighborhood Captains and a comprehensive "Canvassing 101" session for all volunteers before we head out.
- Full Toolkit: We provide all outreach materials, maps, and supplies—you just bring your passion.
- Accessible Options: Not comfortable door-knocking? We have alternative roles available so everyone can contribute to the mission.
Alternative Opportunities
- Event Support: Help manage check-ins, distribute kits to canvassers, and keep our home base running smoothly.
- Phone Banking: Reach out to residents via phone to share the same life-saving information from the comfort of our event hub.
- Data Entry: Assist with digitizing the community surveys collected by our field teams to help us track our impact.
- Why It Matters:
This Day of Action supports one another, neighbor to neighbor and block by block, to ensure everyone has the information needed to take charge of their health. One conversation can lead to early detection and save a life. Your participation makes this possible.
