These organizations are pivotal forces in Jacksonville's historic neighborhood, playing a crucial role in enhancing the lives of its residents. United Way of Northeast Florida proudly partners with these organizations, recognizing their unwavering dedication to fostering economic mobility and equity for Eastside residents.
Jax Melanin Market is a nonprofit dedicated to creating a cultural destination and marketplace that highlights Black-Owned Businesses while providing creative place-making outlets for community fellowship and has grown to be the largest collection of Black-owned businesses in Northeast Florida. In addition, they help small businesses elevate to the next level by providing access to resources and training facilitated by subject matter experts that will allow small, minority businesses the opportunity to flourish in a competitive market.
With deep roots in the neighborhood, Jax Melanin Market would like to bring curb appeal back to the district with improvements such as landscaping around the trees lining the streets and some painting.
