As we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s timeless fight against poverty, New Town Success Zone proudly collaborates with Edward Waters University and Wealth Watchers' C.R.O.P. program to make a tangible impact in the community.
New Town Success Zone (NTSZ) is dedicated to breaking generational cycles and shattering economic, health, and educational barriers for children and families in the neighborhood by providing a place-based continuum of services from prenatal care to post-secondary training.
Wealth Watcher's C.R.O.P. program collaborates with NTSZ by addressing food apartheid, striving to eradicate food deserts within New Town. The aim is to promote access to locally grown, healthy produce, ensuring no one is left behind.
Volunteers are needed to repair and prep garden beds and benches, mulch the current’ beds and even paint a mural on the garden equipment shed with the NTSZ Urban Farmacy! Your commitment can help nurture a community where opportunities flourish, and everyone has access to the resources they need. Join us in turning Dr. King's dream into reality.
Important: Please note that because the C.R.O.P. program is USDA grant-funded, every volunteer is required to read the brief safety protocols sheets: Groundwork Safety Protocols and Produce Safety and Record Keeping to take the quick quizzes in tabs One and Two, located here under the Part One and Part Two tabs. If you think you would like to continue to volunteer with Wealthwatchers CROP program, please read the final informative article, the How's It Growing Workshop and take Quiz Three at the same site as above. They are super quick and easy!
