There will be a block-by-block inventory of Jacksonville's historic Eastside using a survey and mapping tool. Volunteers are needed to work in pairs to do an external survey of all houses and lots in the neighborhood to get an accurate map and count of vacant parcels, existing structures, and the general condition of the houses. The purpose of the mapping exercise is to assist LIFT JAX, the Historic Eastside Community Development Corporation, and our partners to advance our housing strategy -- focused on supporting existing homeowners, bringing high-quality housing to the neighborhood, and reducing blight.
Volunteers are needed all day, but any time you have to help is welcome.
