Volunteers needed to assist with sorting donated food items
Several food shipments are coming in Tuesday and volunteers are desperately needed to help organize the items!
Through our food pantry, The Salvation Army of Northeast Florida provides supplemental groceries to 250 income-eligible households per week. By supplying free fresh produce, canned goods, and healthy frozen items, our food pantry allows people to maintain their independence and dignity. Help us continue fighting food insecurity by volunteering to sort food.
Volunteers should have the ability to stand for the duration of food distribution, and be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
To ensure the safety of volunteers, staff, and recipients, no more than five individuals are allowed in the food pantry at once. Hand sanitizer and handwashing stations are available on site.
To register, you must create an account and sign up on the Salvation Army of NE FL website. Please contact Meghan Keith with questions
Volunteers are essential for critical feeding responsibilities in our region. Please print out your volunteer shift confirmation or have it readily available when traveling to and from our facility.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is scarce, and masks are necessary for this activity. Volunteers must bring their own face mask in order to participate. Instructions and required specifications can be found HERE.
