Come join the dynamic team at Volunteers in Medicine and help the Jacksonville community who have no medical insurance. Volunteers in Medicine is seeking nurses to assist providers at our downtown free clinic for the working uninsured. Various shifts are needed during our main working hours of Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 - 5:00. A nine month commitment is required, as all positions require training. Ongoing opportunities do not have an end date and are readily available with few time constraints. They are often skills-based and are perfect for individual development. Additionally, these opportunities allow volunteers to assist with a crucial need in the community, help to build capacity for agencies, and enable the volunteer to build a relationship with the recipient organization.
Please note that while most of these opportunities give the volunteer the flexibility to work from home, a few may require the volunteer to be present on site. Also, as some needs require training, a commitment of at least 6 months may be requested.
