This MLK Day of Service, join United Way of Northeast Florida, First Missionary Church of Fernandina Beach and the Nonprofit Center for Sustainable Agriculture Excellence as they address food insecurity among struggling families.
It is estimated that 1 in 6 adults and 1 of 4 children in Northeast Florida are hungry or facing food insecurity, which is simply not knowing when or how they will get their next meal. The largest growing population experiencing hunger or food insecurity is working families, “ordinary” people who work hard and live on an income that can’t stretch from paycheck to paycheck.
Volunteers are needed to help unload, sort, and hand food to resident families in need.
