Who We Are

Project Downtown Jacksonville is a local non-profit community service organization, based on Islamic principles and inspired by the national Project Downtown initiative, that contributes to the well-being of the greater Jacksonville community by providing necessary services to its homeless, indigent, and disadvantaged members while fostering a positive image of Islam through cooperative social work and outreach. Despite our background, we are NOT a denominational organization and welcome any and all humanitarians to serve with us for the betterment of our community. We believe that it is the HUMAN obligation to give back. We serve meals every Saturday at 2:00 pm at the Main Street Park. We meet at the Islamic Center of North East Florida at 1:00 pm to prepare the food. If you wish to volunteer, we ask you to arrive a little shortly before 1:00 pm and be cognizant of any events which may be ongoing which may create difficulty in parking. Our consistency in support allows us the privilege to form lasting, meaningful relationships with those we serve in social and emotional means.

What We Do

Project Downtown Jacksonville is an initiative to help out those less fortunate in Downtown Jacksonville. We provide meals and other daily necessities for our family in downtown.
