Volunteer: Hospital Gift Shop Volunteer

Non profit hospital gift shop assistance needed. All proceeds support Brooks Health Foundation programs that serve patients and the community. Volunteers will provide customer service to patients, visitors and staff. Retail duties include sales utilizing a point of sale system (iPad) and scanner, replenishing stock, dusting and straightening displays. Morning and afternoon shifts available. We would like to staff 7 days a week.

Even if you don't have experience in retail - we can train you to be the best! Assistance needed at Jacksonville and Bartram Campuses.

Volunteer opportunities available at both Bartram Crossing and University Crossing locations.
Provide residents with meaningful engagement, interaction and support through guided activities and tasks. Support Activities, Nursing, and Therapy departments. Assist in fall prevention and safety measures for cognitively impaired residents

Major Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities:

Daily engagement with residents in various situations, including, but not limited to: Outings Group activities (ex. Arts and crafts groups, games, interactions, and conversations) Visitations Assisting with preparations of activities Distributing and updating activities calendars Light paperwork/computer work Supporting nursing staff Responding to call lights Rounding (checking in on residents) Supporting therapy staff Transporting residents to sessions Assisting with basic equipment set up or tear down Anything else requested by direct supervisor Watching for safety issues and reporting concerns to appropriate staff member

Onboarding Requirements - Compliance with ACHA

All volunteers must complete a Level II background check, including fingerprinting and providing your SSN to for processing All volunteers must provide proof of COVID vaccination or comparable exemption documentation All volunteers must provide proof of FLU vaccination yearly from Nov 1 st - April 1 st or wear a face mask for the duration of the FLU season

Good communication skills Ability to work independently Dementia education and training related to de-escalation techniques for agitated residents may be provided.

As a volunteer in the Low Vision Lending Library you will be assisting members of our community that are living with vision loss.  The library provides an array of devices that can make everyday life easier.  These devices may read text, enhance the size of text, or the improve lighting for the user.  You will be responsible for logging devices in and out of the inventory, making calls to follow up on returns or notifying of availability; while providing an environment of compassion, friendliness and service.
