Every April, in celebration of National Poetry Month HopeAtHand.org hosts Jax Poetry Fest to inspire community-based poetry projects and spark a love for language in North Florida. Designed to engage the community, the poetry programming of Hope at Hand is a unique arts and culture experience for Duval County. Spoken word performances, poetry slams, youth poetry contests and workshops are offered at no cost to the public.
It’s all fun stuff! No experience necessary!
3 Shifts Available
1st Shift - (MOCA Family Day Events) – Volunteers are needed to assist in set-up of poetry materials at the MOCA facility, assist Hope At Hand facilitators with positive, encouraging children’s activities and assist in clean-up following children's event.
2nd Shift (Closing Celebration) - Volunteers are needed to assist in set up booth, attend booth and encourage visitor participation, distribute materials to booth visitors for event at Hemming Park.
3rd Shift (Closing Celebration) - Volunteers are needed to assist in booth attendance, encourage visitor participation in booth activities, distribute materials to booth visitors and break down booth following festival event at Hemming Park.
Volunteers will meet-up at park at designated area (TBD).
