Making Strides For Autism, Inc. presents the 7th annual Backpacks-4-Autism School Supply Drive to support Northeast Florida students with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), grades K-12 attending public, private, and home schools. Once again, hosting the Back 2 School Bash/Food distribution event on Saturday, August 6th, 7 am - 12 pm. This is not your typical supply drive! With your help, we can reach our goal of providing 200 students on the autism spectrum and their families with the school supplies and food needed to succeed in their classrooms!
VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED FOR VARIOUS ROLES:
- Event Ambassadors: Check-in and greet families picking up supplies/food, answer event day questions, parking lot attendants, provide directions for distribution pickup at Oak Hill campus, and other duties as assigned.
- Registration Check-in: Check-in attendees, verify backpack registration, and issue resource bag.
- Backpacks/Food Distributor: Issue backpacks and/or food to registered families.
- Photographer/Videographer: Take photos and videos of attendees and the event.
- Special Needs Buddy: Assist volunteers that may have autism and special needs participating with volunteering.
- Logistics: Help set up, break down, and clean up after the event is completed. We ask all volunteers to assist with this task.
Corporate, Church, Community Service, Family, and Civic Groups welcome! Students needing volunteer and community service hours are also welcome!
