YOUR HELP IS NEEDED!!
For the 5th year, Making Strides For Autism, Inc. (MS4A) is hosting our Back to School Event to provide much needed school supplies and food during the COVID-19 pandemic for students on the autism spectrum RETURNING TO CLASSROOMS. This year we've partnered with Farm Share and Oak Hill Elementary School to help! Our goal of providing 100 backpacks full of schools supplies and a bag of food to Northeast Florida (Duval, Clay, Baker, Nassau, St. Johns) children with autism. We thank Farm Share for donating 100 bags of food and generous citizens, organizations, and business for donating backpacks. Your help is needed to make this event a success!!
"In light of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), this event will be a drive-thru event at Oak Hill Elementary School on Saturday, August, 1st! Items will be placed in the trunks of vehicles. Mask and gloves will be provided. No one with a temperature over 100.4 will be allowed to volunteer on the day of the event."
VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED FOR VARIOUS ROLES:
- Registration Check-in: Check-in attendees in their vehicles as they enter the school's parking lot and verify backpack registration.
- Bag Distributor: Hold up backpack selections from curb and place selected backpacks and food in trunks of vehicles.
- Photographer/Videographer: Take photos and videos of attendees and volunteers at the event.
- Logistics: Help set up, breakdown, and clean up after the event completed. We ask all volunteers to assist with this task.
Corporate, Church, Community Service, Family, and Civic Groups welcome! Students needing volunteer and community service hours also welcome!
