Be a part of a transformative day of service in North Riverside!
Our partners in North Riverside understand that vibrant neighborhoods go hand in hand with sustainable, communal spaces. In addition to safeguarding homes, the North Riverside CDC has created a community garden on Smith Street, maintained by Groundwork Jacksonville and Daily Manna Serving Center. North Riverside is a food desert--there are no grocery stores within walking distance and residents do not have access to fresh vegetables, and the garden allows residents to plant and grow their own vegetables.
The garden not only provides fresh produce but serves as a nurturing hub for community connection and well-being, which is why North Riverside CDC and Groundwork built a gazebo with the help of volunteers during MLK Week of Service. Unfortunately, The storms in May destroyed the gazebo when 2 trees fell directly on top!

The neighborhood invites your help to create a new structure that encourages rest and fellowship in this beautiful green space. Volunteers are needed to roll up their sleeves and pick up a hammer to assist with assembling this important garden addition. Please join us in making a lasting change!
