Volunteer at Urban Geo-Ponics for The Farmacy Project, an innovative program empowering Black boys aged 8-17 in underserved districts of Jacksonville. This transformative initiative blends physical fitness, anti-bullying, self-esteem building, agricultural education, arts, field trips, and inspiring guest speakers to cultivate self-esteem, health, and self-sufficiency.
Volunteers this MLK Week of Service will be creating the garden and setting the base of the outdoor kitchen. This space will instill in the children the importance of fresh produce, how to their own, and how to cook them--so vital in this food desert area. In addition, it will allow them to go beyond basics to experience hands-on, advanced agricultural methods and innovative cooking techniques. Help Urban Geo-Ponics build and prep garden beds, assemble and paint picnic benches, and help set up the outdoor kitchen area.
Together, we sow the seeds of resilience, confidence, and success, fostering a future where racial equity and anti-poverty efforts thrive. Join us in nurturing the leaders of tomorrow. Volunteer at The Farmacy Project and be a part of Dr. King's dream in action!
