Wreaths Across America started when wreath maker Morrill Worcestor had a surplus of wreaths. He decided to honor veterans resting at Arlington National Cemetery by placing these wreaths at their gravesites. The tribute grew, and then expanded into a charitable organization enabling patriots everywhere to Remember the fallen, Honor those who serve and Teach our children the value of freedom.
This annual tribute to our country’s veterans has grown to reach more than 4000 cemeteries around the world and more than 3 million veterans honored. This year, National Wreaths Across America day will be held on Saturday, December 14th 2024.
EVENT DETAILS
We invite you to join us on Wreaths Across America Day at Jacksonville National Cemetery. All are welcome to come place a wreath. You do not need to register if you are coming to place a wreath. We’d love to have you join us!
If you plan to bring a group of volunteers larger than 20 people, please email wreathsacrossjax@gmail.com to let us know how many volunteers and what section you plan to visit.
All event parking is at a remote parking location. Thanks to Anheuser-Busch for allowing us to use their facility for parking. The address of the parking location is near the intersection of Lem Turner and Lannie Roads. The address is 16163 Lem Turner Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32218.
Continuous shuttle transportation is provided by JTA & Durham School services.

Saturday, December 14th, 2024
6:45 am Shuttles from remote parking begin
7:00 am Key volunteers arrive
9:30 am Arrival of motorcycle escort and semitrucks carrying wreaths
9:45 am Unloading and staging of wreaths by volunteers
10:30 am Family members only - invited to place a wreath at their loved one's gravesite
11:30 am Wreaths Across America Ceremony begins at the Assembly Area
1:00 pm Public is invited to place remaining wreaths in all parts of the cemetery
Please dress for the weather!
If it has been raining prior to our event the ground will be wet and, in some places, muddy. Wear the appropriate footwear. The weather can change!!! It may be cold in the morning but by the afternoon it can be hot out there. Please dress in layers.
