United Way’s
Annual Day of Action is a powerful day of service that brings people together
all around the globe to roll up their sleeves and make a real difference in
their communities. On Thursday, June 18, United Way of Northeast Florida
volunteers will come together to support our Full Service Schools initiative
through hands-on projects at our Englewood and Greater Springfield locations!
United Way’s
Full
Service Schools (FSS) network helps DCPS students and families access
critical support beyond the classroom, with a strong focus on mental wellness
and removing barriers that can impact a child’s ability to learn and thrive.
Through partnerships with schools and community organizations, FSS connects
families to resources like free mental health services, food assistance,
afterschool programming, family support, and other neighborhood-specific
services tailored to the needs of each community.
From campus
beautification and facility enhancements to kit assembly and community support
activities, volunteers will help create welcoming spaces and meaningful
resources for local students and families while investing in stronger schools
and healthier neighborhoods across Northeast Florida.
