Join Us in Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s Legacy of Service

“An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity.”

-- Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Dr. King reminded us that when people come together in service — working side by side — we can move mountains. His legacy calls us to lift up our neighbors and strengthen the communities we share. That call is especially meaningful today. Nearly 40% of households in Northeast Florida live at or below the ALICE threshold — Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed — meaning they work hard but still struggle to afford basic needs. These are the very challenges Dr. King devoted his life to addressing.

This MLK Day of Service on Saturday, January 17, United Way of Northeast Florida, in collaboration with AmeriCorps and dozens of nonprofit partners across Duval, Clay and Nassau counties, invites you to join us in meaningful service projects that support families and build stronger, more resilient neighborhoods.

When we serve one another, we all thrive,  because uplifting those facing the hardest challenges uplifts our entire community. Click below to explore volunteer opportunities in your county and sign up.
