Each year, READ USA organizes free Book Fairs at elementary schools in Duval County to provide students with choice and access to high-quality books.
Our volunteers are vital to the Book Fairs' success and can choose from a variety of activities:
- Helping students pick out their two free books and see their faces light up when they find “the ones” they want – and get to put their name in it! (THIS is what makes the Book Fairs so much fun!)
- Organizing books by age, genre, and other categories
- Book labeling and bagging
- Set-up and tear-down
- On- and off-site support (including administrative preparations, organizing fellow volunteers, etc.)
Important Volunteer Info:
All adult volunteers must complete a free Level I background check through DCPS. Applications typically take 5–10 business days to approve, so please plan ahead. You can complete that here!
