Who We Are
RealSense, United Way of Northeast Florida’s free tax preparation program, is dedicated to helping local families file taxes at no cost. Our team of IRS-certified volunteers provides essential support to low-to-moderate-income families, ensuring they receive the refunds they deserve without the burden of costly tax preparation fees. An affiliate of the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, RealSense has provided free tax preparation services for 20 years, helping tens of thousands of families and individuals annually save money and build assets.
What We Do
Help Northeast Florida families become financially secure
According to the latest ALICE report, more than 39% of households in Northeast Florida struggle to make ends meet. RealSense is dedicated to building financial well-being in our community, but this life-changing service wouldn’t be possible without the help of hundreds of volunteers and seasonal staff who operate our tax sites. As we gear up for another tax season, we are seeking volunteers to increase the number of families we can serve. Whether you're a tax preparer, site coordinator or greeter, your time and talents can make a real difference in our community. Volunteers are required to complete training, with sessions offered in person and virtually:
