Required Certifications for Volunteers
To qualify as a volunteer, you must complete the following certifications:
- Standards of Conduct – Ensures you understand and adhere to ethical practices.
- Intake/Interview and Quality Review – Prepares you to effectively assist clients and maintain high-quality service standards.
- Advanced Level Certification – Demonstrates your proficiency in handling more complex tax situations.
These certifications are essential to ensure you are well-equipped to provide accurate and reliable assistance to clients.
Certification Deadline
We are excited to welcome new volunteers to our team! Please note that February 9, 2026, is the final date to complete your certification to become a potential volunteer for this tax season.
Certification is an essential step to ensure you are prepared and qualified to assist with our program. If you have not yet completed your certification, please do so by this deadline to secure your spot.
Once you have completed your desired certification(s), return to the VITA/TCE landing page, then click Sign Form 13615, scroll down and click I agree to sign form... then click Sign Form 13615.
Instructions for Submitting Your 13615 Certification
Complete Your 13615 Certification:
Ensure that you have successfully completed your certification and have received the required document verifying your certification.Save Your Certification:
Save your 13615 certification document as a PDF. Make sure the file is labeled clearly with your name for easy identification (e.g., "John_Doe_13615.pdf").Compose an Email:
Open your email platform and create a new email.Recipient Information:
Address the email to the RealSense Team using the provided email addresses:RealSense Team: Steve Norris: steven@uwnefl.org and Aretha Franklin: arethaf@uwnefl.org as proof of your certification level(s).
Subject Line:
Use a clear and specific subject line, such as:
13615 Certification Submission - [Your Full Name]Email Body:
Compose your message in the email body or you can copy and paste the message below. Here’s an example:Dear RealSense Team,
I have completed my 13615 certification and am submitting my documentation for your records. Please find the certification attached to this email. Let me know if you require any additional information or documents. Thank you for your time and assistance!

Attach the Certification:
Use the attachment feature in your email client to attach the certification file. Double-check to ensure the correct document is attached.Send the Email:
Once you’ve reviewed your email for accuracy, click Send.Confirmation:
Wait for a confirmation reply from the RealSense Team acknowledging receipt of your certification.
